Satori Books Permissions Policy

This Permissions Policy explains how to request permission to use content published by Satori Books.

 

1. Copyright and Ownership

Unless otherwise stated, all content published by Satori Books, including text, book covers, and other original materials, is protected by copyright law.

Some titles published by Satori Books may be based on works that are in the public domain. In such cases, any original editorial content, introductions, annotations, design, and formatting created by Satori Books remain protected by copyright.

 

 

2. Uses That Do Not Require Permission

Permission is not required for:

• Brief quotations used for reviews, criticism, commentary, or scholarly purposes
• Quotations shared on social media, provided proper credit is given
• Uses that fall under fair use or similar legal exceptions

All such uses must include appropriate attribution to the author and Satori Books.

 

 

3. Uses That Require Permission

Permission must be requested for any use beyond fair use, including but not limited to:

• Reproducing substantial portions of text
• Commercial use of text or excerpts
• Reprinting content in anthologies, course packs, or other publications
• Translations into other languages
• Audio editions or dramatic adaptations
• Film, television, or other media adaptations
• Use of cover images or interior design elements

Permission requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to a fee or licensing agreement.

6. No Guarantee of Permission

Submitting a permission request does not guarantee approval. Satori Books reserves the right to grant or deny permission at its sole discretion.
